This Privacy Policy describes how Home Video Channel handles information when you use the app.
Summary
- Home Video Channel does not collect personal data for advertising or analytics.
- The app does not upload your photos or videos to developer-operated servers.
- The app does not delete, edit, or modify items in your Photos library.
- Playback preferences and app-owned curation state are stored locally on your device.
- Version 1.0 does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertising, or analytics.
Photos Library Access
Home Video Channel requests access to the Photos library available to the Apple TV user. This access is used to show albums, photos, videos, dates, places, and playback channels inside the app.
The app uses Apple PhotoKit APIs to request playable images and videos for local playback. Home Video Channel does not upload your Photos library to developer-operated servers, does not sell Photos data, and does not use Photos data for advertising.
App-Owned State
The app stores lightweight state needed for core features, including playback preferences, watched history, app favorites, review queue items, hidden or skipped items, tags, and the last played channel.
This state may include Photos local identifiers so the app can find the same Photos items again. It does not store photo or video file contents.
iCloud Photos and Optional iCloud State Sync
iCloud Photos access is provided by Apple at the system level. Home Video Channel does not provide a custom iCloud login.
If optional iCloud key-value syncing is enabled in a future build, the app may mirror app-owned state such as favorites, hidden items, review queue items, and watch history through Apple iCloud key-value storage. This is separate from your Photos media.
Data Sharing
Home Video Channel does not sell personal data. The current app does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or developer-operated cloud media storage.
Children
Home Video Channel is intended for general audiences. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
The app keeps its own preferences and curation state in local app storage. No method of storage is perfect, but the app is designed to avoid collecting or transmitting your Photos media outside Apple system services.
Changes
This policy may be updated when app features change, such as adding analytics, crash reporting, account features, new cloud providers, or additional sync services. The updated policy will be posted on this page.
